Whiners and winners

Hopefully Michael Crabtree's cousin who claims the WR will sit out 2009 if the Niners don't cough up more cash, doesn't have much influence on the youngster. If he does, the Niners and Crabtree are in real trouble. If you think he went 10th after an injury, where do you think he will go after a year of not playing?

The Naval Academy had its annual fan fest on Monday and guess what, they are going to run the triple-option again. Rciky Dobbs provides great skills at QB, but a lot of unproven talent on offense and a tough schedule loom as obstacles to overcome if the Mids are to win a 7th straight commander in chief's trophy. Unlike some teams and coaches who go aw shucks we arent any good and this schedule is too tough, the Mids just say that's great, lets go play! Amen.

The Nats have won five in a row, including a sweep of the contending Marlins. Kudos to the players who are professional in a time where they could have mailed it in a long time ago. Mike Rizzo done enough to be full-time GM? I think so. Go ahead and bring back Jim Riggleman too.

I saw Brian Matusz pitch three times at Bowie. He was near flawless. His first start was his first win and won't be the last in Baltimore.

As for Melvin Mora, we love reading the stories about the 234 kids you have at home. You have always been a great guy, but don't whine when you don't hit. The manager is just doing his job, at least while he has it.....
